Independence Day at the lake

I was in heaven this past Independence Day Weekend. All six of my children came up to our family lake house, which we have nicknamed the “Shamrock Lodge".” We all enjoyed family time together, playing board games, roasting s’mores over the bonfire, enjoying several typical July 4th barbecues and, of course, partaking in tons of summertime fun at the lake!

As a family of safe boaters, we took all the water safety precautions necessary to have a fun, safe and seen Fourth! We all life jacketed up, and when the kids were out on the wakeboard or tube, they all sported a sleek, neon orange FlagGuard. With it, my husband, Tim, and I were never worried about losing sight of them, or other boaters losing sight of them on the busy waters. FlagGuard increases visibility, and keeps you easily visible!

While we were out on the water, other boaters stopped us to ask, “What exactly is that flag?” We let them know, and by the end of the week, boaters all around the lake were sporting FlagGuard while their children had fun on the water. The weekend came to a close, and we all enjoyed a fabulous fireworks display out over the lake. It was a successful #SafeAndSeen Independence Day Weekend!

Erin McLaughlin

FlagGuard was founded by a mother of six and entrepreneur who saw a critical gap in water safety after her own daughter was nearly hit by a boat. Determined to find a solution, she developed FlagGuard, a groundbreaking safety device designed to enhance visibility and protection in the water.

With a passion for innovation and a deep commitment to safety, she secured four patents and trademarked FlagGuard, ensuring that families, boaters, and water enthusiasts have access to a reliable tool that helps prevent accidents. FlagGuard is more than just a product-it’s a mission to make waterways safer for everyone.
